It has been ten years since the Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns. Thrust into this is ex-jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost, son of the late Stacker Pentecost, who is given a chance by his adopted sister, Mako Mori, to unite with the world and fellow Jaeger pilots to prevent humanity’s extinction.

Black Panther Trailer #1

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to Wakanda. He soon finds his sovereignty challenged by factions within his own country. When two enemies conspire to bring down the kingdom, T’Challa must team up, as the Black Panther, with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje—Wakanda’s special forces—to prevent a world war.

Happy Death Day Review

I give production companies like Blumhouse lots of credit for taking a small budget films like this and taking a chance where hit or miss, is a very refreshing formula in a very stale and creatively bankrupt climate in Hollywood. Happy Death Day is a fun and energetic film perfect for the Halloween season.

The Foreigner Review

The Foreigner is a smart and entertaining foreign film that doesn’t feel all that foreign. The veteran acting of Chan and Brosnan carries the film’s dialogue, emotion, and action. I doubt this film will be successful enough to grant a sequel, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a part 2 if it came.

The Revival of TRL Is Dead On Arrival

No Identity, No Buzz, No Great Content, and No viewership. The TRL revival looks to be short-lived if things don’t improve ASAP. The revival of TRL is one that sounds good on paper, but even if they have brought back everyone from the original show in the original format, you simply can’t bring back the era that was the late 90s and early 2000s and MTV is finding that out the hard way.

Justice League ‘Heroes’ Trailer

Months after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice[1] and inspired by Superman’s apparent sacrifice for humanity, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince assemble a team of metahumans consisting of Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, and Victor Stone to face the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons, who are on the hunt for three Mother Boxes on Earth.

Blade Runner 2049 Review

Visually the film earns the highest marks but storytelling drags down what could have been a  film of the year candidate into a sci-fi thriller that is 45 minutes too long. The plot isn’t interesting enough to justify the runtime and the twist ends the film on a flat note rather than an emotional one. Oscar nominations all around for the technical team here otherwise this film is a hard sell for your average moviegoer who needs to clear their schedule to experience Blade Runner 2049.

UPDATED: Has Late Night Comedy Stop Being About Comedy?

At the end of the day, this isn’t about whether these guys have the right to say and do the things that they do. The argument is has late night comedy become too political to still be considered comedy? If you are a long time viewer of late night TV, can you still watch the current crop of shows and separate art from politics or has the current trend made it impossible to do so?

Digimon Adventure Tri. Chapter 5: Coexistence Review

Last year I reviewed Digimon Adventure Tri. Chapter 1: Reunion. It was the first  Digimon animated series based on the original characters in 16 years. A crisp new animation style to continue a story that fans have waited for since their teens. I really enjoyed the first chapter, but watching the next three gave me more questions than answers.

Flatliners (2017) Review

It is not every day you get the opportunity to watch a film in theatres that has 0% on Rotten Tomatoes (according to critics that is). I’ve been barking at RT critics for years now for their flawed rating system and biased reviews, the only real question here is, Does Flatliners deserve it’s 0% rating?…No.

American Made Review

Looking to lick the wounds of The Mummy, a film that was not only a critical flop, a monetary flop (95 Million dollar loss), but it may have killed Universal’s Dark Universe before it even started. Tom Cruise is hoping everyone forgets about that film as his latest project, American Made hit theaters.

The Plot Thickens: Disney Reportedly Saved Agents of SHIELD From Cancellation (Follow Up)

No matter which side of the story you choose to believe, this latest development now has a lot of questions that need to be answered. Why did Disney step in and make the save for a struggling TV show? Did Disney also have input when it came to canceling Tim Allen’s show from the network? Why would they cancel a highly rated show while admittedly struggling for ratings with their other TV programs?

Tim Allen Is Upset About ‘Last Man Standing’ Cancellation…Does He Have A Point?

ABC claims the reason for their cancellation was the reason they cancelled the show was the did not want to continue comedies on the network for Friday night, I night they ironically use to thrive in with their T.G.I.F. lineup in the late 80s – early 90s. So if they simply didn’t want comedy on Friday nights, why not move the show to a new night?

To Protest Or Not To Protest? The NFL’s No Win Situation

If NFL players protest the anthem tomorrow in the wake of Trump’s comments, fans of the NFL who are already upset with the protest might see it as the last straw to give up on the NFL product and ratings have been down the last couple of years. If the NFL listens to Trump and tries to downplay the protest, the backlash of left-wing activist groups like BLM and others will be swift and loud. The NFL might not like it, but they have the problem on their hands and they have to pick a side. Take the fight to Trump at the possible expense of their fanbase or take a stand for their profit margin and distance themselves from the Anthem Protests.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Review

Kingsman: The Secret Service set a high bar that Golden Circle simply couldn’t match, but Kingsman: The Golden Circle is still a fun enjoyable movie. Escapism is the key and Kingsman excels at being the Bond movie that Bond movies can’t be anymore…crude, violent, funny, and self-aware. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a solid popcorn flick to end a painful Summer Blockbuster season.

Happy Death Day International Trailer

Tree Gelbman must relive the same day over and over again on her birthday and figure out who attempts to kill her at her party every time and why. She is killed at the end of each day by a serial killer with a smiling mask obscuring his features. Immediately upon dying, she wakes up again in the morning with full memory of what she’s experienced. She decides to catch hold of the apparent killer’s identity by noting down the experience that she has every day.

Because of Gracia Quick Review

Less is more and the reason other Christian movies worked is that they focused on one topic and wrote a story to best represent their point. Here you feel like they needed a product to target to teens, but is just isn’t relatable to its own Christian teenage demographic. Overall Because of Grácia some moments of brilliance but fails to put together a coherent story in its Pro-life message it wants to present.

American Assassin Review

American Assassin is basically a Reagan era action film with lackluster writing that holds back the film from being something truly memorable. With that said if you haven’t watched IT for the third time this week, American Assassin is easily the best film of the week for moviegoers.

IT (2017) Review

If you are judging this as a horror, the film isn’t as tension filled as another recent movie Annabelle: Creation. With that said the movie is still enjoyable and worth a watch, especially seeing what we dealt with the last few weeks.  IT is a good movie on its own, as a horror film, you may want to hold your judgment for the sequel to give it fair judgment.

Birth of the Dragon Review

Birth of the Dragon only scratches the surface of the life of Bruce Lee and the biggest crime here is that the runtime doesn’t allow a greater story to be told. With that said the film is fine and is at least enjoyable, but if you are looking for a more in-depth story about the battle these two had in the bowels of the Bay Area, you are better off doing your own research.

Logan Lucky Quick Review

Logan Lucky is a good movie, the cast has a great time playing their roles and it shows. The problem is the film is not very original and very clichéd. The story becomes way too convenient in order for everything to work out and takes away from the risk of the heist. That doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time watching it because you will, and perhaps you learn a thing or two about NASCAR when it’s all said and done…like why you don’t watch it.
