Following in the footsteps of LeBron James, Tom Brady is also cosplaying as a Hollywood producer to produce one of the worst films of the year.

‘80 for Brady’ is a painfully unfunny sports film that only exists to stroke the ego of Tom Brady.
Now that Tom Brady has finally retired for the second time, he can shift his efforts into producing terrible Hollywood movies just like all the other sports athletes for him.
The idea here is pretty simple: get four Hollywood actresses with long-standing legacies in business and put them in the movie where the film revolves around Tom Brady.

’80 for Brady’ is the textbook definition of a film that sounds great in a pitch meeting and then you realize it’s really nothing to go off of after that.
The film is about four women going down to the Super Bowl to watch their favorite quarterback of all time.
Lou, Trish, Maura, and Betty are four best friends who are massive fans of the New England Patriots, particularly the team’s star quarterback Tom Brady, having become fans in 2001 while celebrating Lou’s successful completion of chemotherapy.

15 years later, the four women float the idea of actually going to the Super Bowl in person and after winning a competition for free tickets the foursome prepares their trip to Houston.
The film is too safe to be anything memorable and uses the severely broken Hollywood comedy model for its laughs. Just like ‘House Party’ that was released earlier this year, ‘80 for Brady’ is nothing more than a ego boost produced by a multi-millionaire athlete.
The plot only serves to prop up Tom Brady as one of the greatest of all time using Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field as vehicles to sell that message.

Screenwriters Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern are known as the duo responsible for the feminist smash hit that nobody watched 2019’s ‘Booksmart’. Needless to say, the duo stood no chance in writing an entertaining movie about nothing.
Everything about this film is fake from the script, the actor’s performances, and the cameos that are supposed to be entertaining but are eye-rolling in every sense of the term.
There really isn’t much to say about this movie except for everything about it is bad from start to finish. ’80 for Brady’ is exactly what is wrong with modern Hollywood Cinema in January proves to be the perfect Dumping Ground for a film like this.

’80 for Brady’ is a lock for a top 10 worst films of 2023.
