Barack and Michelle Obama’s Netflix produced film American Factory, won big at the 92nd Academy Awards Sunday night for Best Documentary Feature. During their acceptance speech, Co-director Julia Reichert quoted a political slogan directly from the Communist Manifesto.
Reichert took a moment to honor “working people” who she said, “have it harder and harder these days.” She then proudly proclaimed in front of the Progressive friendly audience that:
“We believe that things will get better when workers of the world unite,” she said.

“Workers of the world, unite!” is an infamous political slogan directly pulled from The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and is seen as a battle cry against capitalist societies such as the United States of America. American Factory is a documentary about a Chinese-owned glass factory in Dayton, OH which highlights the clash between rural American workers and immigrant workers from China. The film is the first from Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions which has a deal with Netflix to produce multiple films and documentaries for the platform.
Back in January, Barack praised the film on social media saying:
“I like this film for its nuanced, honest portrayal of the way a changing global economy plays out in real lives.” This is exactly what Michelle and I hope to achieve through Higher Ground. Congratulations to the incredible filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, and the entire team!”

This woman is pure evil.
“The workers” being referred to in the CM are the workers of 1848 – when it was published – who sweat for 72 hrs/wk in dirty dangerous factories and farms for subsistence wages. The workers in factories in the west today are unionized and virtually all middle class with wages and working conditions so good Marx would assume that his workers revolution had succeeded completely beyond his wildest dreams. Meanwhile, in communist China – not so much.
I canceled my Netflix subscription upon learning the had hired the son of an actual for real communist, Barack Obama to produce whatever he wanted. Obviously, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. The fact that Hollywood gave an oscar to this trash is just another example of real live morons virtue signalling their love of Obama.
Exactly. And proof that leftists just won’t let the Obama era go.
