Submission (BlackBear) Review: Need Improvement

After two marines make it home following an ISIS interrogation, one struggles to survive while the other fights his way back into the mixed martial arts world that he left behind years ago.

There are films out there that I can applaud the effort more than the final product, this is one of them. The acting is amateurish and the plot is far more convoluted that a film of this budget EVER needed to be. With that said, I didn’t hate it. Submission is simply one of those low budget films that had heart and promise but simply didn’t have the means to be what it needed to. If they had removed some needless plot points from the story then this could have easily been a much higher score. The filmmakers had their hearts in the right place taking on some tough issue but they need to spend more time working on their craft before tackling issues.
