Dave Bautista is still upset that James Gunn was fired as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a film that has now been put on hold indefinitely by Disney as they try to figure out how to go forward with the troubled project. However, at this point, Bautista may not want to come back for another movie. In an Appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, he stated that “They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely. To be honest with you, I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”

Dave also spoke out about the situation with Comic Book Movie, about being vocal in support of Gunn…“I’m aware that this could possibly cost me a job I care for very much, but at the same time it’s an integrity issue, it’s a loyalty issue,” he said, referring to Gunn. “So I’m not going to bite my tongue for anything, that’s just who I am as a person.” “It is what it is if it costs me a job that’s just what happens. I always think as it like you can’t threaten a poor man with poverty. I grew up poor, I know what is like. I’m not afraid of losing money, It means nothing to me. I will wrestle in backyards in front of 10 people if I have to make a living. I’m not going to be flexible with my integrity.”

The Guardians situation puts Disney/Marvel in a very tough spot with their Avengers 4 movie which is slated for release on May 3, 2019. Most of the film has already been shot but there are reshoots that have been ordered before the film’s release. With the only surviving Guardians cast members being Raccoon and Nebula after the events of Infinity Wars, the question could be will Disney rewrite the script in order to keep certain characters dead? Now that the 2020 release of the third Guardians movie looks very unlikely, Could they decide to blow up the project and take a new direction with a handful of characters?
