At the end of the day, this isn’t about whether these guys have the right to say and do the things that they do. The argument is has late night comedy become too political to still be considered comedy? If you are a long time viewer of late night TV, can you still watch the current crop of shows and separate art from politics or has the current trend made it impossible to do so?
Popular YouTuber Zach, who runs the channel Diversity & Comics, a channel that reviews many of the latest comics from various major publishers has found himself becoming public enemy #1 within the industry. So much so that comic book writers are not only blocking him on Twitter, they are blocking ANYONE who dare follows him on Twitter as well…including me.
No matter which side of the story you choose to believe, this latest development now has a lot of questions that need to be answered. Why did Disney step in and make the save for a struggling TV show? Did Disney also have input when it came to canceling Tim Allen’s show from the network? Why would they cancel a highly rated show while admittedly struggling for ratings with their other TV programs?
ABC claims the reason for their cancellation was the reason they cancelled the show was the did not want to continue comedies on the network for Friday night, I night they ironically use to thrive in with their T.G.I.F. lineup in the late 80s – early 90s. So if they simply didn’t want comedy on Friday nights, why not move the show to a new night?
In conclusion, Disney Channel Movies had a place in your heart if you were around at the right time. I recommend going back and watching the films yourself, i’m sure you can find a semi-legal site that has every film in question and more. You can’t recreate what once was, you can only relive it.
Now it’s time for the best films of 2016. It’s been a long road and while there are a lot of shit to dig through there was also a lot of gems. From horror to thrillers to heist films, there was alot of diversity in the top 10 this year so here are 1-10 with a few honorable mentions.
