Two months have passed in Hokkaido. Snow falls thick and heavy over the quiet village. A convoy of armored vehicles—Japanese police and UN peacekeepers—surges toward Hokkaido Baptist Church. Sirens wail. Officers in riot gear spill out, weapons raised, battering rams at the ready. The lead officer shouts orders: “Secure the building! Arrest anyone inside! Christianity is outlawed!” They breach the doors. The sanctuary is empty.
