YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki recently sat down with CNN reporter Brian Stelter’s on his show Reliable Sources to discuss how the platform has responded to the pandemic by removing thousands of videos.

Wojcicki defended the platform’s efforts to give people the right information and stamp out “misinformation” by naming The World Health Organization, the same organization accused of defending China’s handling of the initial outbreak, as an ‘authoritarian source’ on the virus.

“Anything that would go against World Health Organization [WHO] recommendations would be a violation of our policy” – Wojcicki said.

Despite promising to censor videos that betray the narrative set by the WHO, Media Matters proceeded to use Wojcicki comments as a springboard to attempt to silence a Youtube channel they don’t like.

The Next News Network, which is a right wing channel that has amassed over 1.4 million subscribers, according to Media Matters should be removed from the platform because they had a member of their network accuse the World Health Organization of fraud.

YouTube continues to tout the use of machines to take down content and claims they have been able to be really effective during this time.
