Last night was a wild night on Saturday Night Live, the show that has dedicated the last three years of its programming attacking President Donald Trump had vocal Trump supporter, rapper Kanye West on as the musical guest and it was just as crazy and you thought it would be.
Walking into enemy territory, the theme of last night’s show was mocking and attacking of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh along with the GOP, even actor Matt Damon got into the attack by mocking Kavanaugh’s speech defending himself from 36-year-old allegations of sexual assault earlier this week. But when Kayne West showed up, the mood of the show changed. The overwhelmingly Democrat cast members of the show objected to West wearing a Red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat displaying his support of the president.
Despite the backlash, West performed his third and final song with the hat on. What happened after that was not aired on NBC due to time. West invited the cast of SNL back on the stage and proceeded to go on a Pro-Trump/Anti-Democrat speech that obviously wasn’t well received by the left wing cast or crowd in New York City.
West would say “The blacks weren’t always Democrats. You know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan,” West said.
He continued “There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”
At one point, West said he was “bullied backstage” and was warned not to wear the hat with Trump’s campaign slogan on it. West then referred to his MAGA hat as his “Superman cape,” putting it on and telling that crowd “this mean, you can’t tell me what to do.”
“Thank y’all, for giving me this platform. I know some of y’all don’t agree but y’all be going at that man neck a lot, and I don’t think it’s actually that helpful,” West said of President Trump. “Ninety percent of news are liberal.”
“Ninety percent of TV … LA, New York, writers, rappers, musicians; so it’s easy to make it seem like it’s so, so, so, one-sided,” West continued as the music in the background hit a crescendo.
While Kanye’s speech didn’t over so well with cast and crowd.
West followed up his wild performance by tweeting out this statement the next morning doubling down on his Pro-Trump support.
“This represents good and America becoming whole again,”
“We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love,”
