Bad Times at the El Royale Review

Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past in 1969. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell. A young concierge greets the strangers: a down-on-his-luck priest, a singer, an impressionable Southern girl and her older sister, a vacuum cleaner salesman, and a charismatic cult leader.

Only The Brave Review

There is no easy transition into depicting the events Yarnell Hill Fire and the film has to essentially create filler conflict while establishing many secondary characters. Only The Brave remains an authentic character driven biopic that provides some of the best work we’ve seen from its veteran actors and a pretty decent performance from Miles Teller as well.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Review

Kingsman: The Secret Service set a high bar that Golden Circle simply couldn’t match, but Kingsman: The Golden Circle is still a fun enjoyable movie. Escapism is the key and Kingsman excels at being the Bond movie that Bond movies can’t be anymore…crude, violent, funny, and self-aware. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a solid popcorn flick to end a painful Summer Blockbuster season.

Hell or High Water Review

Hell or High Water is one of the best films of the year and it’s really a shame that this won’t get the mainstream cognition that it deserves. Director David Mackenzie has put himself on the map with this crime thriller and Sheridan’s writing there isn’t much more you can ask for this film.
