The intensifying conflicts—fueled by media, protests, and legislation—serve as God’s mechanism to expose hearts. One side consistently takes positions opposing Bible teachings (e.g., promoting what Scripture calls sin or injustice), aligning with Satan’s deception to “deliver up” the faithful (v. 21). The other supports biblical principles, enduring hatred as Jesus foretold (v. 22). This is not coincidental; as in Matthew 10, God allows such strife to separate sheep (those confessing and enduring for Jesus) from goats (those denying through worldly alignment). Loving worldly politics more than Christ disqualifies one (v. 37), and the choice is public, eternal: “him will I also deny before my Father” (v. 33).
