Is The American Film Industry No Longer American?

According to The LA Times, In 2016, Chinese investment in the U.S. entertainment industry hit $4.78 billion, an all-time high. If you were planning on waiting out the storm, I’m afraid I have some bad news because Hollywood has now found a new target audience and market to pander to, this time…It’s Saudi Arabia.

The Miracle Season Review

A Miracle Season at its core is a story that is as heartwarming as it is heart wrenching. I have some issues with the film’s style, but overall the real-life triumph of using grief to obtain redemption is a message that should hit home with many and at least with the case of audiences, actually did. If women going through the pains of sorrow, resilience, and faith to find success isn’t the ideal ‘feminist’ message for society, then it’s probably time to good look at what one’s definition of ‘feminism’ actually is.

A Quiet Place Review

There are only a handful of films coming out that I’m legitimately looking forward to seeing. One film that I have looked forward to for some time is A Quiet Place, which is a film was written, staring, and directed by John Krasinski. Being big fans of both Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, this trailer for this film seemed like a no-brainer. An anxiety-ridden horror film when no one speaks or is even allowed to make the slightest sound with two likable leads at the helm…count me in.

How President Trump Has Broken Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon is a full-on deranged man and the sad part is that he’s dragging other people into his never-ending lake of sadness. Don’t believe me, read the comments on his original Trump death tweet. It’s time for Joss to take another long break from Social Media and hopefully he gets the help he needs because right now, the future doesn’t look pretty for the Nerd Jesus.

God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness Review

If Reverend Dave is getting the bump to the main event status, the story should have been more centered and focused on him. Instead, what we get is a messy Frankenstein of a movie that fails with its target audience and the people who are going to need blood pressure meds after watching this film *cough* David *cough*. God’s Not Dead III, is okay but its failure to capitalize on its potential is it’s biggest failure.

Ready Player One Review

As fun as Ready Player One is, there is a very important message about living life and not letting your online persona define you because you never truly know what is real or fake in an online bubble. With that said, Ready Player One is easily the most fun I’ve had in the theater all year and I have a hard time believing the audience won’t enjoy it either.

Pacific Rim Uprising Review

Giant robots, Giant monsters, and at least one Chinese actress to identify with means the film’s target audience (China) should enjoy this. Pacific Rim Uprising excels in the bare minimum, as long as you aren’t asking too much of this film, you’ll enjoy it on your own time, but this is not something you need to run out to your theater to watch right now, save your money for Avengers like everyone else.
