Only The Brave Review

There is no easy transition into depicting the events Yarnell Hill Fire and the film has to essentially create filler conflict while establishing many secondary characters. Only The Brave remains an authentic character driven biopic that provides some of the best work we’ve seen from its veteran actors and a pretty decent performance from Miles Teller as well.

Happy Death Day Review

I give production companies like Blumhouse lots of credit for taking a small budget films like this and taking a chance where hit or miss, is a very refreshing formula in a very stale and creatively bankrupt climate in Hollywood. Happy Death Day is a fun and energetic film perfect for the Halloween season.

The Foreigner Review

The Foreigner is a smart and entertaining foreign film that doesn’t feel all that foreign. The veteran acting of Chan and Brosnan carries the film’s dialogue, emotion, and action. I doubt this film will be successful enough to grant a sequel, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a part 2 if it came.

The Revival of TRL Is Dead On Arrival

No Identity, No Buzz, No Great Content, and No viewership. The TRL revival looks to be short-lived if things don’t improve ASAP. The revival of TRL is one that sounds good on paper, but even if they have brought back everyone from the original show in the original format, you simply can’t bring back the era that was the late 90s and early 2000s and MTV is finding that out the hard way.

Blade Runner 2049 Review

Visually the film earns the highest marks but storytelling drags down what could have been a  film of the year candidate into a sci-fi thriller that is 45 minutes too long. The plot isn’t interesting enough to justify the runtime and the twist ends the film on a flat note rather than an emotional one. Oscar nominations all around for the technical team here otherwise this film is a hard sell for your average moviegoer who needs to clear their schedule to experience Blade Runner 2049.

Has Late Night Comedy Stop Being About Comedy?

At the end of the day, this isn’t about whether these guys have the right to say and do the things that they do. The argument is has late night comedy become too political to still be considered comedy? If you are a long time viewer of late night TV, can you still watch the current crop of shows and separate art from politics or has the current trend made it impossible to do so?

Flatliners (2017) Review

It is not every day you get the opportunity to watch a film in theatres that has 0% on Rotten Tomatoes (according to critics that is). I’ve been barking at RT critics for years now for their flawed rating system and biased reviews, the only real question here is, Does Flatliners deserve it’s 0% rating?…No.
