In a recent interview with The Gentlewoman, Actress Scarlett Johansson said she believes actors do not have a particular responsibility to make political statements just because they are in the spotlight…wait, what?

“I don’t think actors have obligations to have a public role in society,”

“Some people want to, but the idea that you’re obligated to because you’re in the public eye is unfair. You didn’t choose to be a politician, you’re an actor. Your job is to reflect our experience to ourselves; your job is to be a mirror for an audience, to be able to have an empathetic experience through art. That is what your job is.”

“Whatever my political views are, all that stuff, I feel most successful when people can sit in a theatre or at home and disappear into a story or a performance and see pieces of themselves, or are able to connect with themselves through this experience of watching this performance or story or interaction between actors or whatever it is,” Scarlett added.

Johansson, who has been nothing but political in her entire career since campaigning for Democrat John Kerry all the way back in 2004. Since then, she has carried the water for every Democrat who has run for office along with pushing many progressive causes such as Planned Parenthood and Democratic Socialism. The idea that at the age of 36, she has finally discovered the celebrities are not politicians is laughable.

Scarlett just doesn’t want the mob to come after her.

Johansson has been a target of the LGBT lobby for attempting to play transgender roles and then attempting to defend herself playing transgender roles. When it comes to opposing Republicans, Scarlett has a lot to say. When it comes to opposing the people who sign her checks, she just doesn’t have the backbone for it.

One response to “After Biden’s Win, Scarlett Johansson Suddenly Doesn’t Want To Be Political”

  1. I imagine there’s going to be a lot of “Can’t we all just get along” in Hollywood now that their guy is in office and their industry is in the crapper. I also note that her new movie is coming out and the cis male demographic it was designed to appeal to is the same one they’ve been spitting on for the last four years.
