The USWNT took the field on Sunday at the SheBeleieves Cup in Orlando wearing Black Lives Matter jackets, as they have for some time. However, the political demonstrations stopped there as every member of the team stood for the national anthem.

Dunn said USWNT players arrived at a collective decision to stand prior to the game.

I think those that were collectively kneeling felt like we were kneeling to bring about attention to police brutality and systemic racism. I think we decided that moving forward we no longer feel the need to kneel because we are doing the work behind the scenes. We are combating systemic racism. And we never felt we were going to kneel forever, so there was always going to be a time that we felt it was time to stand. I think we’re all proud that we are doing the work behind the scenes and it was just a game that we felt we were ready to move into the next phase and just continuously fight for change.

Two years ago, the US Women’s Soccer Team deicated their 2019 World Cup run to protesting then President Trump. Megan Rapinoe, the openly lesbian co-captain for the United States Women’s national soccer team, then said that she would no longer participate in patriotic displays as a protest of the Trump administration.

“I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart. I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again,” Rapinoe said adding she views herself as “a walking protest when it comes to the Trump administration,” because of “everything I stand for.
“I feel like it’s kind of defiance in and of itself to just be who I am and wear the jersey, and represent it,” Rapinoe said. “Because I’m as talented as I am, I get to be here, you don’t get to tell me if I can be here or not. So it’s kind of a good ‘F you’ to any sort of inequality or bad sentiments that the Trump administration might have towards people who don’t look exactly like him. Which, God help us if we all looked like him. Scary. Really scary. Ahh, disturbing.”

Now that Joe Biden is the current President, The ladies have decided to end their protest because their loyalty towards the country solely depends on if a Democrat is in the White House.

  1. I really hate that soccer team of bigoted and sexist women.

  2. Here’s the actual deal – if the corporate sponsors disappeared there would be no US women’s soccer team, period. The major sponsors are VW and Nike. The minor sponsors are Allstate, ATT, Chipotle, and Deilotte. The latter is a financial services corporation that specializes in left wing investment portfolios. Nike we already know is cultural sh*t making sports equipment while sucking Chinese organ. All these companies suck.
