Actor Tom Cruise was caught on audio berating the film crew on the set of Mission: Impossible 7 for violating “social distancing rules”. Their crime? Being with six feet of each other while editing the movie.

Universal Pictures

According to The Sun, who obtained the audio of an angry Cruise because he spotting two of the crew standing within two metres of each other, he then gathered about fifty crew members and told them that no one’s being given any more chances. Any further violations of social distancing rules means you’re “fucking gone.”

“If I see you do it again, you’re fucking gone. And if anyone in this crew does it, that’s it — and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever fucking do it again.”

“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherfuckers,” he shouted. “That’s it. No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their fucking homes because our industry is shut down. “

“We are not shutting this fucking movie down. Is it understood? If I see it again, you’re fucking gone.”

There is a mixed response to Cruise’s tirade, some feeling the rant was overblown to seeing two people within six foot of each other and others understanding the pressure Cruise is under to get Mission Impossible 7 complete on time. Mission: Impossible 7 was already shut down once due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Others say that Cruise is feeling the pressure of being the standard that other Hollywood blockbusters will be set in filming during the age of COVID.

Was Cruise fair or foul in his outburst?

  1. I hate what COVID-19 has done to people who are too scared of a single virus.

  2. I agree wtih John Nolte’s take. If the C19 strikes it could shut down the set, stop or delay the picture and a lot of people’s income depends on that not happening. People who would be unemployed if that happened. So probably a valid move.
