A&E Cancels Highly Rated ‘Live PD’ Citing Backlash From George Floyd’s Death

A&E has officially canceled its flagship series and one of the highest-rated shows on basic cable. Live P.D. was pulled last week in the wake of George Floyd’s death and now A&E network has made its removal permanent.

A&E has officially canceled its flagship series and one of the highest-rated shows on basic cable. Live P.D. was pulled last week in the wake of George Floyd’s death and now the A&E network has made its removal permanent.

“This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,” the network said in a statement to Deadline. “Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.”

Live P.D. was basic cable’s #1 show on Fridays and Saturdays averaging over 3 million viewers during the weekend. The show was renewed on May 7, 2020 for an additional 160 episodes that will now not happen.

Progressives are actively demanding that all television and film portrayals of police officers be banned in the wake of George Floyd’s death and it looks like Hollywood giving in coming off the heels of yesterday cancellation of Paramount Network’s Cops which was also canceled after 31 years on the air.

Cool. I’m pretty sure that if these guys get my mom’s cop shows cancelled, she will never vote Democrat again!

A&E obviously is not run by mature adults. They probably don’t want people to see cops NOT killing black people. ..so they can perpetuate and maybe even embellish a little and so add to all the chaos.

A&E pulled a dumbass move removing LivePD. The show not only represented what goes on in our county but afforded millions of viewers to help the police around the county catch criminals and find missing persons. To whom ever owns A&E, this was a real asshole move and we you the viewers Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Unknown are PISSED! You did NOT do this for the good of ANYTHING. You made a rush to judgement and you made yourselves look like idiots and cowards. Criminals are still on the run, Children are still missing, and LIVEPD Fans want it back. Honestly, whoever is running A&E should be fired. It was a dumbass move and now people are taking it upon themselves to capture events happening. Though I admire their determination, they are not police officers or professionals and it could cost them their lives. There are petitions from millions of viewers wanting LivePD back! Those same people can also bury A&E by boycotting your station/channel.

I think you are foolish and I am appalled at your rush to judgement. Had you taken a survey prior to your rush to judgement, you would have realized “WE” the viewers would vote to keep it on the air!
