With a massive box office bomb on the horizon due to the Coronavirus outbreak that has shut down the Chinese And South Korea Markets, “No Time to Die”, the latest James Bond film co-written by Fleabag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, will be postponed until November according to MGM management.

The move was made to delay the release of the film after outbreaks of the Coronavirus have savaged major markets for Hollywood such as Italy, South Korea, and China. With a massive production budget of 250 million dollars and a marketing budget that is likely to surpass that amount, the internal feeling was the film was destined to bomb without the international market as the domestic US market would not have recouped their costs.

With Hollywood on pace to lose billions of dollars this year due to countries like China shutting down their film industry, this could be the first of many major film delays as the industry looks to wait out the international outbreak and save their profits.

One response to “PANIC: MGM’s ‘No Time to Die’ Delayed Seven Months To Avoid Losses In Chinese Market”

  1. Interesting. If the COV-19 outbreak mirrors the Swine flu (H1N1), the epidemic should be over inside of a few months. That would allow this movie to be released in the summer. Leasing it in October is strange as that’s not “movie season” and usually results in lower results in the US. Unless it has something to do with the election – or the movie itself???
