Conor McGregor is never one to bite his tongue or stray away from controversial statements. Late Monday night, the MMA superstar took to Twitter to praise US President Trump following a post celebrating low African American unemployment rates. Trump posted the following message on Martin Luther King Jr. Day:
It was exactly three years ago today, January 20, 2017, that I was sworn into office. So appropriate that today is also MLK jr DAY. African-American Unemployment is the LOWEST in the history of our Country, by far. Also, best Poverty, Youth, and Employment numbers, ever. Great!
This post prompted Conor to respond with the following:
Phenomenal President. Quite possibly the USA GOAT. Most certainly one of them anyway, as he sits atop the shoulders of many amazing giants that came before him. No easy feet. Early stages of term also. Incredible. Congrats and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day.
President Trump is a huge supporter and fan of mixed martial arts and the UFC. Last November, Trump attended UFC 244 which saw Jorge Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz for the BMF title making him the first sitting US president to attend an MMA event. McGregor’s comment will surely outrage numerous blue check marks on Twitter but fresh off his 40-second victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, I doubt Conor will care too much about the wrath of progressive Twitter.
