If Rotten Tomatoes is giving a current day television show a certified fresh rating while the audiences are dunking on the show like Shaquille O’Neal in his prime, you know that the show is filled with obnoxious progressive dogma that only a self-hating critic could enjoy.

Damon Lindelof has re-imagined Alan Moore’s The Watchmen for HBO and you know a show is bad when even the critics have a tough time selling it to audiences. According to Rotten Tomatoes:

Watchmen isn’t always easy viewing, but by adding new layers of cultural context and a host of complex characters it expertly builds on its source material to create an impressive identity of its own.”

According to audiences, however:

“Watchmen plays out like a revenge fantasy of some moody blacktivist, rather than a comic book show.”

Back in July, Lindelof told audiences that his show would tackle racism and the police. Lindelof said that he was inspired by far-left writer/activist Ta-Nehisi Coates when putting the show together which is why racism and white supremacy are the focal point of the series. This move was criticized by fans of the series who complained that the show was being radically altered from its graphic novel origins making the show ‘Watchmen’ in name only. These fears were realized when the first episode of the HBO show which debuted last night opened with a scene based on the 1921 Tulsa race riots.

Hollywood has a knack for editorializing events of the past to make a current day parallel that demonizes their political enemies. The villains of the series are a group of rednecks (because white people are only racist in the south) named the Seventh Cavalry. The rednecks, of course, want to kill all non-white people while clinging to their bibles and guns (Have you figured out that they are talking about you yet?). The hero of the series is a middle-aged black woman named Sister Night played by Regina King, who despite her 5′ 3″ female frame, can brutalize any man with the fists of Batman.

Corinne Weaver from Newsbusters points out the story comes across as a radical progressive daydream, where the racist alt-right attack the ethnic vigilantes with machine guns. The vigilantes are allowed to take Antifa-like tactics to defend themselves. HBO’s Watchmen is primed to be one of the most divisive shows of the year with critics celebrating its woke take on race relations as it attempts to lecture its audience. Meanwhile, the audience will slam the show for its lack of entertainment and its complete dismissal of the source material.

  1. Time Warner’s HBO has always been cable television aimed at validating upper middle class leftists. There may, however be hope for the future: https://fortune.com/2018/07/09/hbo-changes-att-new-owner/

  2. #FireDamonLindelof Especially since WarnerMedia(under AT&T) is doing massive layoffs. It wouldn’t surprise me if Damon Lindelof is one of those that get lay-off and replaced.

  3. Word got out that people on the right like Rorschach, so they had to create a modern interpretation of him where he’s The Worst Ever so future generations will see it as another sign that conservatives are racist.

It is absolutely worth spending millions of dollars on a failed show that nobody will watch to destroy a minor cultural icon.
