Actress Scarlett Johansson has been the target of progressive ire quite a few times due to her being cast in acting roles that progressives believe should have gone to someone else. In 2017, she was a target for those upset about her casting in the film Ghost In The Shell and last year, Johannsson was slated to play Dante Tex Gill, a transgender man in the drama film Rub and Tug. However, following intense backlash from her fellow progressives and members of the LGBT, she was forced to step down from the project in order to keep the pack of dogs off her back.

Well, Scarlett finally spoke out and lashed out at those who loudly complained about the roles she has taken over the years…and then she immediately apologized and pandered to the same angry mob who got her fired in the first place. In a recent interview with As If Magazine, Johannsson hit back at people who objected to her acting roles:
“You know, as an actor, I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job,” she said.
“I feel like it’s a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons, yet there are times it does get uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel art should be free of restrictions,” she said in the recent interview. “I think society would be more connected if we just allowed others to have their own feelings and not expect everyone to feel the way we do.”
As her comments won her temporary praise from proponents of “woke casting“, Johannsson shortly came out and to apologize and clarify her comments to the same progressive mob. Scarlett claimed the magazine took her comments out of context with the following statement:
“The question I was answering in my conversation with the contemporary artist, David Salle, was about the confrontation between political correctness and art,” she said. “I personally feel that, in an ideal world, any actor should be able to play anybody and Art, in all forms, should be immune to political correctness. That is the point I was making, albeit didn’t come across that way.”
She then continued by pandering to the same angry progressive mob by acknowledging her straight white privilege as an actress:
“I recognize that in reality, there is a widespread discrepancy amongst my industry that favors Caucasian, cis-gendered actors and that not every actor has been given the same opportunities that I have been privileged to. I continue to support, and always have, diversity in every industry and will continue to fight for projects where everyone is included.”
No word yet if the mob is satisfied with her response.
