It seems like the word “Owner” is offensive to two groups of people: Communists and NBA Players. Rapper/Actor Common told TMZ that he is pleased with the NBA for moving past the title “owner” as players have recently come out against the term linking it to slavery. Common believes the term is “inconsiderate” considering the history of slavery in the United States.

“I’m so pleased,” he said. “The term owner — it didn’t sit right with me.
“The history of what we have and we are as black people in this country … it’s just not really being considerate of the history.”
“Nobody owns us,” Common concluded. “These men are professionals.”

The NBA has recently begun talks about doing away with the term and replacing it with “chairman,” or “governor.” The term owner has always been used to describe the person who owns a franchise or a sport team but it seems like the NBA is purposely trying to link it to racial resentment that doesn’t even exist. But once again, Progressivism is hell bent on infecting and co-opting everything you love and sports is no exception. I guess we will use the term ‘chairman’ until someone complains about the term not being gender-inclusive which will then led to complaints about the lack of diversity among NBA owners…anything to take away from the actual game of basketball.

  1. Common seriously needs to go to a mental hospital if he thinks owner in the NBA is an issue.
