A few weeks ago, Actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was attacked in Chicago at 2 in the morning during a deadly polar vortex. He claims two white men screaming racist and homophobic slurs such as “This is MAGA country”, jumped him, poured a chemical on him in sub-zero temperatures and put a noose around his neck. Despite the fact that Chicago Police has come out and stated there is no evidence that has been reviewed or presented to support Smollett’s claim of being attacked, the actor is coming out and doubling down against people who don’t believe his side of the story…that means you Trump Supporters.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Smollett sounded off on those who refused to believe his story in spite of a lack of evidence.
“I’m pissed off…It’s the attackers, but it’s also the attacks. It’s like, you know, at first it was a thing of like, listen, if I tell the truth then, that’s it, because it’s the truth. Then it became a thing of, like, oh, how can you doubt that?”
“Like, how can you not believe that? It’s the truth. Then it became a thing of, like, oh, it’s not necessarily that you don’t believe that this is the truth. You don’t even want to see the truth.”
“It feels like, if I had said it was a Muslim, or a Mexican, or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot much more–a lot more and that says a lot about the place that we are in our country right now,” the Empire star said.

Chicago Police Department said Monday that it does not have enough evidence to launch a criminal investigation into the alleged assault of Empire actor Jussie Smollett after he turned over “limited and redacted phone records” to detectives.
“We are very appreciative of the victim’s cooperation however the records provided do not meet the burden for a criminal investigation as they were limited and heavily redacted,” Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “Detectives may be following up with him to request additional data to corroborate the investigative timeline.”
