Ellen Page has been on a tear recently in the process of promoting her new Netflix show The Umbrella Academy. Last week, she not only blamed President Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence for promoting hatred against LGBT people leading to the alleged assault on Empire actor Jussie Smollett but also said that “Environmental racism” will end the world by 2030…Now she is calling out actor Chris Pratt for being a member of the Hillsong Church which is now being labeled ‘Infamously Anti-LGBTQ’.

On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Chris Pratt was talking about a diet regimen called “The Daniel Fast” that he was encouraged to try by the pastor at his Christian church. Pratt said:

“He’s a guy who only ate fruits and vegetables and cereals. He didn’t have any leavened bread or any animal products. I was inspired by my pastor to do it. It’s kind of like our Lent, you know, you give something up. So, for 21 days I had no meat, no sugar, no alcohol, and it was actually amazing. It was really cool.”

Ellen Page who was just on Colbert’s show last week saw this clip and responded with this:

“Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?”

The criticism of Hillsong comes from 2015 comments by Hillsong global pastor Brian Houston who said “Hillsong Church welcomes ALL people but does not affirm all lifestyles. Put clearly, we do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.”

This was shortly after the Chruch was criticized for signing with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment making it the first time a major Hollywood talent agency has signed a house of worship as a client.

Chris Pratt has yet to respond to Page’s comments.

  1. Maybe once Trump appoints a constitutionalist in place of RBG it will be ruled that it’s okay to be openly Christian.
