Another Day…Another Marvel Property…Another FU to the conservative right.
It seems like every day someone or something associated with Marvel (Disney) uses the company and their properties to take their personal frustrations out on conservatives and today is no different. If you were a viewer of Netflix’s The Punisher Season 1, you probably felt the series was incomplete compared to the mob and gangster killing Frank Castle we all know and love.
Well, Season 2 which appears to be the last series on Netflix looks to be no different, In a new report from Collider, it has been announced that Frank Castle’s latest villain will be a character named John Pilgrim played by actor Josh Stewart. The villain has been described as ‘Alt-Right’ who is associated with white nationalism and extreme conservatives.
“On the exterior, [John Pilgrim] is a man who is a Christian Fundamentalist who had a rage, a violent side of him,” Stewart said. “It’s buried deep. I think where this is all headed, that sort of side of him is going to resurface a bit.”
Basically, this is character will be used to represent every conservative that the writers of the show have hated since losing the 2016 Presidental Election to Trump. It doesn’t matter that “Fundamentalist Christain Alt-Right” is an oxymoron because the Alt-Right beliefs differs from that of a fundamentalist Christian. He will repeat things like “Make America Great Again”, there will be references to the border, and will no doubt have connections to Neo-Nazis who will be the only people Frank kills in the season. The playbook of Hollywood progressives has been so overplayed, not only is it predictable but it is barely worth getting upset at anymore. If you are conservative or libertarian comic book fan, I have no idea why you are still a fan of Marvel at this point because as discussed in the Scott Derrickson story earlier this week, everyone associated with Marvel at this point, from the comic books, screenwriters, producers, directors, and actors completely despise you.
Season 2 of The Punisher debuts on Netflix in January 2019.
