Democrats in Government for years have used Hollywood celebrities to fundraise and campaign for Democrat candidates across the country. The belief has always been that an actor, singer, or professional athlete has the star power to influence voters to support the progressive agenda of the Democrats choosing. Let’s look at what happened in the 2018 midterms, shall we?

Taylor Swift Endorsed Democratic Nominee Phil Bredesen for the Senate

Oprah Campaigned For Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Stacey Abrams In Georgia

Beyonce Endorsed Texas Democratic Senate Nominee Beto O’Rourke

Rihanna, Diddy, and DJ Khaled Endorsed Democratic Florida Gubernatorial Nominee Andrew Gillum

John Legend Endorsed Ohio Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Richard Cordray

Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson, Zoe Saldana, America Ferrera, and Gina Rodriguez Endorsed Florida Democratic Senate Nominee Bill Nelson

Not to mention all the other countless Hollywood elites who endorsed and supported similar candidates all across the board. There is just one problem…everyone that Hollywood supported lost.

Beto…Lost

Abrams…Lost

Gillum…Lost

Cordray…Lost

Nelson…Lost

Bredesen…Lost

Despite MILLIONS of dollars and powerhouse endorsements, every single one of these Democratic candidates failed to win their elections, so when is someone going to say it…Americans truly don’t care about Hollywood celebrities think about politics.

To steal a line from Richard Meyer, celebrities simply don’t move the needle. Why? Many reasons. First and foremost, celebrities are trying to influence elections in states they have no stake in. Let’s take Texas, for example, Beto O’Rourke raised nearly 70 million dollars to run against Republican Ted Cruz in the state of Texas, the vast majority of that money came from the state of California, aka Hollywood. Americans don’t take kindly to out of state millionaires carpetbagging their elections and propping up candidates who are going to impose laws and regulations that celebrities will NEVER have to live with.

Secondly, no one votes for a candidate based on how an entertainer feels about them. Nobody who voted in Texas last night was on the fence two hours before the polls closed, heard that Beyonce voiced her support for Beto and went running to vote. People who care that much about what Beyonce believes likely was already going to vote Beto regardless and her endorsement didn’t swing any new voters. This means that there is no net gain for celebrity endorsements as most of their fans already swing heavily to the left.

Third, Rural Americans hate celebrities because celebrities hate rural Americans. It is difficult to convince the people of Georgia to vote for Stacey Abrams while you call the voters racist in the same breath *cough* Oprah *cough*. People don’t want to hear you telling them to vote for Gillum after you called them “tragic” 24 hours before *cough* Rihanna *cough*. Americans aren’t going to want to listen to what you have to say right after you likened them to Nazis during the Holocaust *cough* Julia Louis-Dreyfus *cough*. It is quite amazing that celebrities are surprised their voices don’t resonate with the people after they viciously attack them on their Twitter pages and the media.

Finally and probably the most important…NOBODY WATCHES YOUR PSAS. I already wrote about how despite having the biggest names in Hollywood attached to political ads and video campaigns, next to no one actually watches these videos hence there is no one to deliver your message to. At this point, you would have a bigger reach running your political ads on MY site instead of some Super Pac’s YouTube channel that only 400 people will see.

Hollywood celebrities demean voters, attack voters, lecture voters, and somehow wonder how millions of dollars and the biggest talk heads in the industry weren’t enough to elect the people they supported, the answer is simple. The people have stopped caring about you. Perhaps if you allowed diversity of thought in Hollywood and everyone got to debate their political opinions without the fear of being blacklisted, there would be some intrigue in your opinion.

As it stands, Hollywood is nothing more than a political farm for the Democrat party and on those grounds, it is simply easier to ignore everything you have to say and, in some cases, vote IN SPITE of your opinion. Americans can use their own minds and come to their own conclusions…the celebrities in Hollywood can’t. They would never work again if they didn’t do what the Democrats tell them to do. Being a millionaire political shill doesn’t entitle you to people’s votes so it may be time to rethink your strategy.
