The further to the left these award shows get, the fewer people watch them…it’s almost like there is a trend. Despite moving the show to Monday to avoid a conflict with NBC’s Sunday Night Football, Monday’s 70th Emmy Awards on NBC sunk 10 percent in early ratings from last year, settling for a new all-time low with a 7.4 household rating. That Emmy’s decline is not as bad as the ones for the Oscars and Grammys, which dropped 16 percent and 20 percent year over year, respectively.

This year’s show was another celebration of “diversity & inclusion” but there are also a lot of references to Trump and midterms of course. The show opened with a cringe-worthy number about diversity claiming that they solved the problem and same way they claim to solve the #MeToo problem at the Golden Globes.

Some of the highlights of the show included the hosts taking a shot at Christians.

“My mother is not watching,” Mr. Che said to Mr. Jost. “She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough.” he continued “That’s true. The only white people that thank Jesus are Republicans and ex-crackheads,” he said.

Actress Thandie Newton also had an odd comment accepting her award

“I don’t even believe in God but I’m going to thank her tonight,” Thandie Newton said, implying that God is a woman.

The constant mentioning of diversity even irked left-wing outlets like The Daily Beast who called the show a Cringe-Worthy, Tone-Deaf Embarrassment. So you have to ask yourself…who are these awards show suppose to be for? Hollywood doesn’t know and they will never figure it out.
