The group at the popular Youtube channel, World Class Bullshitters has started their own IndieGoGo campaign for the parody comic book, Stealing Solo: A Captain’s Story. The idea has been one that the group has discussed on their show many times and it will finally come to reality. The description comes from Jeff Hicks himself.
It’s here! Welcome to the first WCBs Indiegogo project, Stealing Solo: A Captain’s Parody. Stealing Solo is a Star Wars parody of the current state of the franchise. The story is simple a group of men, after the utter disappointment that was Episode VII, decide to kidnap Harrison Ford and force him to remake the movie in their basement. Stealing Solo started out as a joke on the podcast and now it is going to become a full fledged comic book, but the ambition doesn’t stop there. Ultimately, Stealing Solo is destined to become a film that embraces the absurdity of the situation and celebrates the true spirit of Star Wars, but that’s only possible if we work together as a community.
This is a 32 page comic written and drawn by me, with colors and letters by working professionals. Though you may not know it, you’ve been experiencing my writing and artwork for years on the channel and before YouTube, I was in fact a comic artist with issues under my belt. I only gave it up, because I was constantly told what a waste comics are and that I needed to do something worthwhile. Well this is worthwhile to me and tens of thousands of you out there. While Stealing Solo is first and foremost a vehicle to entertain you and lampoon Star Wars, inside it’s a chance for me to prove all of those naysayers wrong.

I have already started the artwork process of the story, have a letterer locked down and am talking to a colorist. The reason for the estimated ship date is what it is, is so this project doesn’t interfere with any channel content. I know how much you all love the show and I would never want to take that away from you. It could very well be earlier than February, but I want to err on the side of caution, rather than disappoint. As a final thank you, all the backers of this project will have their names featured in a thank you section in the back of the book.
