Tim Allen recently for the announced the premiere date for the return of Last Man Standing which is set to return on Sept. 28 to Fox, however, the fate of its series regulars is to be determined. In a new report by Variety, two series regulars are departing the show before the relaunch. Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison will not return for the show’s inaugural season on Fox. Ephraim played Mandy, one of Tim Allen’s character’s daughters, while Morrison played Boyd, his grandson. Both roles will be recast.

Kaitlyn Dever, who played Eve Baxter on the first six seasons of the show recently signed on to star in the Netflix drama Unbelievable. While she is in negotiations for a recurring role, it seems unlikely that Dever will be making a return.

Fox picked up the Allen-led sitcom for a seventh season back in May, a year after it was cancelled at ABC. Allen will return in the lead role along with Nancy Travis, Hector Elizondo, Amanda Fuller, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Jordan Masterson.

Instead of “will the series regulars return to the show as well is to be determined,” The writer should have said “whether the series regulars will also return to the show is to be determined.”
