Update: ICM Partners has dropped client Roseanne Barr following her racially-charged tweet and the cancellation of her ABC series “Roseanne,” TheWrap confirmed with the talent agency Tuesday.

ABC Entertainment has canceled the revival of its hit show Roseanne after actress Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet describing former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett as the product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.

This is not the first time ABC has canceled a conservative’s show after controversial remarks, Tim Allen saw his popular show Last Man Standing canceled by ABC after going on  Jimmy Kimmel Live he saying  “You’ve gotta be real careful around here, You get beat up if don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany.” Allen’s show has since been revived by Fox.

  1. I am going to go with these were beyond controversial. And as someone who worked in talent for 15+ years – this was in her contract as it always is. She took her platform and went to far. There is no one to blame but herself.

    1. Yeah, I’m not defending her tweet, she did it to herself but Disney has some hypocrisy issues in regards to recent hires and controversial statements (and tweets)
