Ocean’s 8 Trailer

 

Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou, Rose, Daphne Kluger, Nine Ball, Tammy, Amita, and Constance. 

 

 

 

Thoughts: This movie is bound to give people Ghostbusters (2016) PTSD being an all-female remake of an original property. The worried here is if Hollywood will go all in with their feminist agenda and drive people away from this film like they did with Ghostbusters 2 years ago. Given the current wave of #MeToo allegations against multiple people in Hollywood, the movie is almost a lock to repeat the same mistakes in an effort to prove that Hollywood cares about women (at least in public). As far as the trailer itself…It looks pretty good. I like most of the women in this film and they seem to be playing it straightforward. My only complaint is that they appear to have given away the entire film here but nothing here suggests the film will be off-putting. Whether Hollywood blows it with the marketing is another story but Ocean’s 8 looks to be a pretty decent film as long as they reign in Mindy Kaling and her ‘jokes’.
