Office Christmas Party is the story of an idiot and his cartoonishly unlikable sister who is trying to shut down the family business. So Idiot decides to throw a party to save the company. If you’ve already seen Sisters, Project X, and This Is The End; then you have pretty much already watched this movie…at least three times.  I feel like I’m repeating myself when it comes to these ‘comedies’ that only Hollywood’s resident stoners seem to find funny. If you look at my past reviews of Seth Rogen movies, you see the same repeat of sex jokes, swearing, pop culture references, and forced improvisation that is funnier to the actors than the audiences. This type of comedy was amusing at first, but after 6 years of the same material, I can’t pretend to be entertained anymore.

The film offers nothing different from everything else you have already seen. T.J. Miller and Jason Bateman play the roles of Seth Rogen and James Franco. Rob Corddry plays the role of Danny McBride. Throw in Jennifer Aniston and Kate McKinnon, you have a typical raunchy comedy that is at least 20 minutes longer than it should be. At this point, I would like Congress to pass a law banning more than 1 cast member from Saturday Night Live from appearing in a film because 2016 has been a terrible year for Saturday Night All-Stars. There’s no story or any substance to this film and when the best part of your movie is Olivia Munn, you should have saved the 45 million dollars and did literally anything else.

  1. Olivia Munn’s boobs will deliver us from bullshit. I don’t know if I want to see this, it really looks garbage. And I couldn’t agree more about your views on McKinnon. She was fun in Ghostbusters but absolutely god-awful in that Zach Galifianakis movie . . .whatever it was called. I’ve already forgotten the title.
